The Woman’s Club Bolling Haxall House Capital Campaign

The Woman’s Club of Richmond began a capital campaign to raise money for restoring the Auditorium in its downtown Richmond headquarters and bringing it in line with modern design and functionality standards.

The Auditorium has a storied history as the heart of the Bolling Haxall House, a place where club members have gathered, celebrated and learned since the early 1900s. Used by various community organizations and for weddings, the Auditorium also serves as an important revenue source for the club.

Because of this history, The Woman’s Club did not want to forget the significance of the building’s past while bringing it into the future. This idea set the tone for the design of a campaign logo, case for support, event mailer and various other collateral.

DCH used rich purples, warm neutrals and patterns from the club’s wallpapers to harken back to the past while relying on modern twists on classic typography and minimalist flourishes to look toward the future.
