CHOMP by Nightingale

Over the course of Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches’ meteoric rise from local Richmond favorite to nationally known dessert delicacy sold in grocery stores from coast to coast, DCH has helped the team grow its brand presence and experiment with different product offerings.

One such example was the creation of a sub-brand for its half-sized sandwiches, CHOMP by Nightingale. The founders wanted a fat, cartoony version of its original bird logo for CHOMP’s branding, so DCH created a cute, chunky mascot to help bring CHOMP to life.

Because these sandwiches were sold at larger retailers, the brand and packaging needed to stand out among some big name competitors. DCH built upon the textures and patterns we created for Nightingale’s original look but added a more promotional feel with clean typography, iconography and custom illustrations.

The CHOMP sub-brand was retired in 2024.
